What is Shift Forward Foundation?
Where transportation is out of reach, opportunity can be too.
For working parents without a dependable car, everyday responsibilities can become impossible choices. A missed shift can threaten a paycheck. A long commute can make childcare harder to manage. A better job may exist—but remain too far away to accept.
At the same time, people and businesses have vehicles they no longer need and a desire to make a meaningful difference, but may not know how to turn that vehicle into direct, lasting help.
Shift Forward Foundation is being built to bridge that gap. We will receive donated vehicles, work with trusted automotive partners to make suitable cars safe and reliable, and place them with working families through a thoughtful referral and review process. One set of keys can restore more than mobility—it can restore time, stability, and a path forward.

Working single parents and families in Middle Tennessee whose lack of transportation limits employment and self-sufficiency.

The journey of a donated vehicle
From donated to driven.
Every vehicle will follow the path where it can do the most good. A suitable car will be repaired and awarded to a family; another may be sold so its value can help put a different safe, reliable vehicle on the road.
STEP 02
A trusted shop inspects it
A qualified repair partner evaluates safety, reliability, mileage, and repair cost to determine the best path for the vehicle.
STEP 03
It takes the right track
Vehicles suitable for dependable daily use are repaired for award. Others can be sold, with proceeds directed toward repairs and program costs.
STEP 04
A family moves forward
Approved recipients are matched by need, prepare insurance and title requirements, and receive a vehicle built for the road ahead.
